This work references roots and shoots as they emerge into the light. It features a cyan/copper dichroic glass in which the colour shifts dramatically depending on the angle of light and of view. It therefore looks very different as the light changes throughout the day, and under artificial light at night.

The tiny strands of glass which connect the silver to represent each little seed head are a reactive glass that visually ‘pops’ out against the shimmering black background
