Merry Christmas.......
Well, I’ve been having a fine old time since I last posted. The exhibition of life drawings and paintings held in The Woodshed in Folkestone (‘Bare) was very well received. And going by the number of business cards taken over the duration, ‘Before Words’, held in the gallery at the Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells, was certainly seen by a lot of people! Both these exhibitions were over by mid November and then, after a short breather, it was time to set up in Folkestone again, for ‘Winter At The Woodshed’. This time I’m there with the excellent Amanda Wood, Clare Hamilton and Penny Graham. Between us we’re offering all sorts of goodies - ceramics, glass, paintings, prints, jewellery, greetings cards, Christmas decorations, and all sorts of lovely gift ideas - so please do call in and see us if you can. We’re open every day up to and including 14th December (see exhibitions page for details).
Also, I’m very excited that once again I have been lucky enough to have my work selected to be part of the wonderful Winter Group Show at Linden Hall Studio in Deal. I’m told they had a huge number of submissions this year, and the competition was tough, so I’m especially pleased to have made the cut. I’m showing ‘And Through Summer Meadows?’ which is another piece in my exploration of ‘The Song Of Wandering Aengus’ . (In this poem, Aengus grows old searching for his fantasy/dream girl through ‘hollow lands and hilly lands’. So it stands to reason that he would have wandered through summer meadows too, wouldn’t he?). There are some major names taking part in this exhibition - check out the Linden Hall Studio website - so it will be quite a show! It opens on Tuesday 10th December and runs through to 25th January 2020 so you have plenty of time to plan a visit.
And finally (well, for the moment anyway) I’ve recently joined the Folkestone group known as East Cliff Creatives. They have an ongoing selection of exhibitions, collaborations, public art events, and joint ventures, so I’m looking forward to joining in the fun!
Anyway, I’ll post again next year. In the meantime, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all good wishes for a happy and healthy 2020
