Out and About ..............

I’ve realised that I haven’t updated my News for several months. Shameful! But I do have the excuse that I’ve been rather busy with all sorts of lovely things going on. Since ‘Exposed’, the exhibition in the Halpern Gallery in Chatham, I have taken part in the ‘Reflections’ exhibition in the Artspring gallery in Tonbridge (held in support of Frontline 19, a charity offering free and confidential psychological support service for NHS and frontline services). I then had an excellent day showing my work at the Plant and Craft sale in the beautiful gardens of Saltwood Castle - thank you so much Bev Saunders of Edge Picture Framing for inviting me to join you at this event, This was followed by ‘Life Cycles’, a 2 week exhibition in 8Squared gallery in Folkestone with my talented friend the printmaker Catherine Robinson. In spite of torrential rain and the fuel crisis doing their best to derail us, it turned out to be most enjoyable. And currently, the excellent painter Zel Hunt and I are having a joint exhibition called ‘Liminal Spaces’ in Touchbase gallery in Folkestone. We’re only there until Sunday 5th, but if you can squeeze in a visit we would be delighted to see you.

Added to the above, I am also part of the Pure Arts Group ART360 event, with some of my work showing in their digital exhibition and the associated digital and printed magazine. And I now have a few small pieces displayed in a recently opened local restaurant. ‘Cocomee’ is located at 2 Castle Hill Avenue in Folkestone and promises to be a great addition to the town.

It’s also time for this year’s Winter Group Show at Linden Hall Studio in Deal. This annual exhibition seems to get bigger and better every year, and I’m honoured to be taking part in it once again. (The image shown with this post - ‘Berry In The Stream’ - is my submission to the show). There’s always such a wonderful variety of work in this exhibition, by household names and emerging talent, there is sure to be something to delight everyone, and I highly recommend a visit. It opened a couple of days ago, and runs until 29th January, so you have plenty of time to go and enjoy it. Check the Linden Hall Studio website for details of opening hours.
